Obituary

Roscoe Earl Turner, 90, of Moberly, passed away on Saturday October 19th, 2019.  He was born April 22, 1929 in Winigan, Missouri to Hershal and Pearl (Childers) Turner.

Prior to retirement Roscoe worked as a carpenter.

Roscoe was reared in Brookfield, MO, he moved to Moberly, MO in 1957 where he worked in construction building businesses and homes throughout the Moberly community.

Roscoe married Marie Burk in 1950; they were married 46 years, 6 months and 10 days, before she preceded him in death in 1997. He then married Naomi Schultz in 2004 and she preceded him in death in 2019. Also preceding him in death were his parents, three sisters, Jaunita Hunter, Wilma Williams, Janelle Mundell and three brothers, Clifford, Bill and Roger Turner.

Survivors include his children: Vickie Troyer and her husband Jeff of Jacksonville, MO, Rick Turner and his wife Pat of High Hill, MO, five grandchildren; Malissa Davis and her husband Jonathon, Megan Shepherd and her husband Terry, Tiffany Turner, Christopher Turner and his wife Amber and Shelley Turner, five great grandchildren; Jacob and Tyler Davis, Hilly Shepherd, Waverly and Ellowyn Turner, a sister, Wanda Warbritton of Paris, MO, Nieces and Nephews, Relatives and Friends.

Roscoe was a 50+ year member of the Coates Street Presbyterian Church in Moberly. He was also a 50+ year member, of the Carpenters Union and the Masonic Lodge.  Roscoe was very involved in his children’s lives from helping coach the PLE Church baseball team, Scouting, 4-H leader to showing horses and cattle throughout the State of Missouri with his son and his daughter. Roscoe enjoyed following his grandchildren in their activities and being with his family.

Memorial contributions to the Coates Street Presbyterian Church would be appreciated.

Services honoring and celebrating Roscoe’s life were held in the Coates Street Presbyterian Church.  Committal prayers and burial followed in the New Cambria City Cemetery.
