Othar R. “Bud” Reeves, 80, of Moberly, died Thursday, June 6, 2019. He was born April 10, 1939 in Maynard, AR to Marvin and Gladys (Gould) Reeves.
Bud served honorably in the United States Army before receiving an honorable discharge. He worked two years at the Cooks paint store before going to work for the railroad. Prior to retirement Bud worked 31 years for Norfolk and Southern Railroad as an Engineer, retiring in 2001.
Bud married Loretta M. Brizendine on July 8, 1961 in Boonville, MO and she survives. Also surviving are his children, Mike Reeves and his wife Cindy and Connie Heathman all of Moberly, grandchildren; Lauren and Gracee Reeves and Adam and Aaron Heathman and Chase Daugherty, a brother, William “Bill” Hillis and his wife Renita of Houston, TX, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Linda Sue Ford.
Bud was a member of the Moberly Eagles and the VFW.
Services honoring and celebrating Bud’s life were held at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel. Military honors, committal prayers and burial followed in the Oakland Cemetery.
