Helen Anne Owings, 84, of rural Huntsville, died Saturday, October 19, 2019. She was born September 6, 1935 in Macon County, MO to George and Jessie (McKenzie) Stallman.
Prior to retirement Helen worked in retail sales for Sears and JCPenny.
Helen married Elwyn Owings on January 6, 1953 in Sturgeon, MO and he survives of the home. Also surviving are her children, Carma Schmidt and her husband Robert of Texas, Mike Owings and his wife Lisa of Oregon, Mark Owings and his wife Sylvia of Colorado and Tad Owings and his wife Angela of Missouri, nine grandchildren; Leslie Schmidt-Taylor, Robert Michael Schmidt II and his wife Danielle, Amber Owings-Daller, Jeff Owings and his wife Lindsay, Crystal Akee and her husband Kaleb, Megan Owings, Amanda Wanous and her husband Andrew, Matthew Owings and Thomas Owings, ten great-grandchildren, Cody and Gage Buetow, Victoria Schmidt, Paislee Reynolds, Connor Wanous, Nicholas Rhodes, Adain Daller, Addison Daller and Jasmin and Elizabeth Akee, a sister, Mary Spencer and her husband George of Macon, MO, a brother-in-law, Gus Condzal of New York, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Jessie Stallman and a sister, Marion Condzal.
Helen was a lifetime supporter of 4-H and FFA, a 4-H leader for sewing and horsemanship, a lifelong Hereford Breeder and a member of the Missouri Cattleman’s Club.
Memorial contributions to the Randolph County 4-H would be appreciated.
Services honoring and celebrating Helen’s life were held in the Cater Funeral Home Chapel. Committal prayers and burial followed at the Memorial Park Cemetery.
