Obituary

Dorothy Pitney, 95, of Fremont, CA, formerly of the Moberly area, passed away Monday, January 6, 2020. She was born December 17, 1924 in Moberly to Ruby Farrar.

Prior to retirement Dorothy worked as an administrative assistant in higher education.

Dorothy married Owen S. Pitney on August 9, 1943 in Pittsburg, CA and he preceded her in death on June 4,1995. Also preceding her in death were her parents and a daughter, Sanfra Lee Treadwell.

Survivors include her children, Sheryl Martinez and husband John of Fremont, CA and Steve Pitney and wife Sara of Cecelia, KY, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Dorothy enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She loved gardening, Christmas crafting and decorating.

Private services honoring and celebrating Dorothy's life were held at Oakland Cemetery, burial followed. The family will have a public memorial service at a later date.
