Doreen Little

Obituary

 Doreen Little died Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Unlimited Care Cottages in Spring, Texas.  Born April 7, 1937 to Ernest Ervin and Ella Jane Roe Jeffery, she had thirteen siblings, all of whom preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Glen Wayne Egley, Sr in June 1972, her second husband, Marcus Wayne Little in April 1987, and her youngest son, Leon Earl Egley in June 2000. 

She is survived by four sons: Glen Wayne Egley, Jr and Diana of Conroe, Texas; Ernest James Egley and Tracy of Moberly, Missouri; Darryl Lee Egley and Miriam of Spring, Texas; and Daniel Dee Egley and Beverly of Duluth, Minnesota.  In addition, she is survived by seven grandchildren, two great-grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Doreen was a member of the Little Dixie Square Dance Club in Moberly, Missouri, and traveled extensively throughout Missouri to dance at many of the clubs in the state.  She was a member of the Central Christian Church, also in Moberly.

Doreen was the valedictory member of the Argyle (Iowa) High School, Class of 1955.  She lived in a variety of locations, including: New Boston and Fort Madison in Iowa: the cities of Wayland, Kahoka, Monticello, Kirksville, and Moberly in Missouri; Duluth, Minnesota; and Spring, Texas. 

Doreen began working at the Shaffer Pen Company, Fort Madison, Iowa, in 1955.  Later, she worked at the University of Missouri-Columbia Extension Center.  Doreen served the State of Missouri as Deputy County Clerk in Lewis County and Chief Deputy County Clerk in Adair County.  She retired in December 2000. 

Memorials to the Egley-Acton Scholarship fund, where Doreen served as an Honorary Board Member, would be appreciated.

  Services honoring and celebrating Doreen’s life were held at the Cater Funeral Home Chapel. Committal prayers and burial followed in the Huntsville City Cemetery.
