Leslie Harwood “LH” Schnetzler, age 89, of Moberly, MO, passed from this life to his heavenly home, April 9, 2024, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
Leslie was born February 2, 1935, in Salsbury, MO, the son of Leslie and Fern (Jones) Schnetzler. He was a 1954 graduate of Salisbury High School. After high school, Leslie served his country in the United States Army from 1957 to 1963.
He is survived by his wife, Becky, of the home, four children, Louise (Richard) Miller, Larry (Mary) Barton, Lois (Mike) Magee, Darin Schnetzler, one stepchild, Lisa (Dean) Sumpter, several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Leslie was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Beverly (Harvey) Renne, Barbara (Bob) Mannering and wife Eula (Brimm) Schnetzler.
As a member of Carpenter Street Baptist Church, he will be remembered for his love of God and family. He enjoyed horses, gardening, oil painting, and woodworking.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Heart Association or Rooted 242, an organization which supports foster families and youth aging out of foster care, are appreciated.
Words of comfort and support were shared with the family at a visitation that was held at Cater Funeral Home Chapel and was followed by funeral services and Military Honors honoring Leslie's life. ( all held at the CFHC) Private committal prayer and burial will take place at the Missouri State Veteran's Cemetery, Jacksonville, MO.
